What Does "UK-Used" Mean?
When we say UK-Used, we mean an iPhone that was purchased by a customer in the United Kingdom, used for a period (typically 1-2 years), and then sold back into the market. These phones come through legitimate resale channels — trade-in programmes, recyclers, and phone buyback services.
The UK has strict consumer protection laws, so phones coming out of UK resale channels are typically in excellent condition. Grade A specifically means: no cracks, minimal cosmetic wear, battery health 80%+, all functions working perfectly.
Are They iCloud Locked?
A legitimate used iPhone seller will always ensure the phone is iCloud unlocked before selling. This means the previous owner's Apple ID has been removed, and you can set up the phone with your own Apple ID immediately.
Always verify this before buying: Settings > [Top] should show "Sign in to your iPhone" — not someone else's name. If it shows a name or email, the iCloud lock has not been removed and the phone is useless without the previous owner's password.
Will It Work on MTN, Vodafone and AirtelTigo?
Yes — UK-Used iPhones from PixelDrop GH are factory unlocked. They work on every Ghanaian network and every international network. There's no carrier restriction.
How Long Will It Last?
This is the best part. Apple supports iPhones with iOS updates for 5-6 years from launch. So an iPhone 12 (launched 2020) will receive updates until approximately 2026. An iPhone 13 until 2027. You're not buying a phone that's about to become obsolete — you're buying a phone that Apple is still actively supporting.
What About Battery Life?
Used phone battery life is the most common concern — and a fair one. Here's what to expect:
- Battery health 90-100%: Excellent — same as new
- Battery health 85-89%: Good — you'll notice a slight reduction in battery life but it's very manageable
- Battery health 80-84%: Acceptable — you may want to budget for a battery replacement within 1-2 years (costs around GHS 200-350 at PixelDrop GH)
- Below 80%: We don't sell these
The Price Difference — Is It Worth It?
Here's a real comparison of PixelDrop prices:
- iPhone 13 New: GHS 4,700 | iPhone 13 UK-Used: GHS 3,650 — save GHS 1,050
- iPhone 14 Pro New: GHS 7,500 | iPhone 14 Pro UK-Used: GHS 6,000 — save GHS 1,500
- iPhone 15 Pro Max New: GHS 11,500 | UK-Used: GHS 8,700 — save GHS 2,800
For most buyers, UK-Used Grade A is the smart choice. Same performance, significantly lower price.
How to Buy Safely
- Always inspect before paying — never transfer money remotely
- Verify iCloud is clear
- Check battery health in Settings
- Test all cameras, speakers, Face ID
- Check IMEI at checkcoverage.apple.com
- Buy from a seller who offers pay-on-delivery
At PixelDrop GH, all six of these are standard practice. You never pay before you're satisfied.
